The Howard Warriors eighth-grade White team traveled to Corsicana over the weekend to play in the district tournament.

The boys from Waxahachie started the tournament by beating undefeated Cedar Hill Coleman, 31-29.

Next, Howard faced off against a talented DeSoto McCowan squad and lost, 51-22.

Howard defeated Corsicana, 35-10, to end up in the third place game against Coleman.

Coleman came out strong and defeated the Warriors, 51-40.

“The team represented Waxahachie well and played hard the entire weekend,” coach Greg McClain said.

This week, the Warriors will play in Ennis on Thursday. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The team will end the season with back-to-back home games in February.
