The Lady Panthers had a  pair of tough district matches last week and managed to pull out a victory at home against South Grand Prairie.

Midlothian improved to (11-19, 2-3 in 5-5A) with that victory Friday.

The Lady Panthers swept the Lady Warriors (25-11, 25-9, 25-12) on the back of great games by Tadam Mergener and Paige Winingham.

Mergener had 14 kills and four blocks.

Winingham had 13 digs and three aces.

Kelli Markwardt also had 13 digs to help the team defensively.

Lauren Wilkerson had 19 assists and a pair of aces.

Last Tuesday, Midlothian took Cedar Hill to five games, but couldn’t quite pull out the victory in the (18-25, 27-25, 19-25, 25-22, 15-13) loss.

Mergener had 24 kills to go along with a pair of blocks and aces.

Winingham has 23 digs and two aces.

Wilkerson led the team with 20 assists, just ahead of Morgan Mobley, who had 16.

The team will take the court again Friday at 5:30 p.m on the road against the Duncanville Lady Panthers. They will then go to Mansfield Timberview at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
