The high school tennis season may be over but for the athletes the competition never stops as Midlothian tennis standouts Kaylee Hullett (left) and Julia Frandsen-DeLoach teamed up to take part in a United States Tennis Association event down in Waco where they picked up a medalist finish.

The girls competed in the Girls 18 Doubles division of the Allen Samuels Chevrolet Sunburst Adult and Junior Open and brought a silver medal back with them to Midlothian.

Frandsen-DeLoach and Hullett took on a team that normally competes for Hewitt Midway in their opening match and fell behind 4-3 early on. But the ladies rallied back with five straight set wins to earn the 8-4 victory and advance.

In the finals, the duo ran into twins Courtney and Morgan Lawless of Austin who proved to be just a little too much to overcome as they claimed the top spot.

Frandsen-DeLoach and Hullett were doubles partners in the fall tennis season for Midlothian with both earning all-district honors for their work. The duo will continue playing in other tournaments this summer.
