All three of the Waxahachie High School sub-varsity basketball teams defeated Midlothian on Wednesday night.
In the George W. Solis Gym, the JV Lady Indians defeated the Lady Panthers, 47-30.
De’Nisha Love led the Lady Indians (17-6, 7-2) in scoring with 16 points. Jessica Gonzales scored 10 points.
Other players with points for the Lady Indians were Marquisha Finley (4), Dae Dae Davis (4), Taylor Hill (2), Ta’Kadrian Williams (2), Rosele Branum (2) and Kraneshia Overton (7).
“Love had a great game on offense and defense,” coach Pattilyn Wilkinson said.
The JV Indians (12-11, 6-2) defeated the Panthers, 56-40, with eight active players.
Waxahachie outscored the Panthers 19-0 in the first period before taking a 36-10 halftime lead.
D.Q. Robinson led the Indians with 15 points while Randy Head scored 13 points. Nykil Lawson had 12 points while Dazohn Wheaton (9) and Oshae Cofer (7) also scored for the Indians.
“We got into the game and got excited. We played hard on defense and offense,” coach Joe Wakeland said.
In freshman action, Waxahachie won 53-38.
Don King III scored a team high 14 points. Austin Combs had 13 points and two 3-pointers.
Josh Durling (3), Devin Chandler (9), Blake Gonzalez (3), Yusef Reown (3), Ryan Wilt (6) and Zack Rieper (2) had points for the Indians.
Waxahachie improved to 13-10 on the season and 5-3 in district play.
All three teams will play in Ennis on Friday.
