WYB player evaluation

It is time to dust off the cleats and oil up the glove and try out that new bat as the Waxahachie Youth Baseball Association player evaluation day will be held Saturday, March 5 at Optimist Fields.

T-ball players will report to Volentine Field at 9 a.m. for 6-year olds and 5-year olds will need to report at noon.

Coach pitch division players will report to the Stevenson Field at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Players in the 10U kid pitch division need to report to the Robnett Field at 10 a.m. for 10-year olds and 1 p.m. for 9-year olds.

12U kid pitch players will report to the Curry Field at 2 p.m. while 14U players will report to the Mount Patrick Field at 10 a.m.

FCA Heart and Soul

golf tournament

The annual Waxahachie Huddle FCA Heart and Soul golf tournament will be held Friday, March 25, at the Waxahachie Country Club. The cost is $85 per player and includes cart, green fee and lunch.

Lunch is at 11 a.m. followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Players and teams must be registered by March 18. Early registration is available and will receive a discount. Various sponsorships are available. For more information, contact James Villarreal at 972-523-8706 or Greg Reed 972-741-9837.

Waxahachie tourney

The annual Robert Dulin Memorial Tournament will be held at Richards Park Thursday-Saturday. Waxahachie opens the tournament with a 9 a.m. game against Seguin Thursday before Seguin plays W.T. White at 11. Midlothian and W.T. White play at 1 p.m. before Midlothian plays Summitt at 3. In the final two games Thursday Birdville plays Cedar Hill at 5 before Waxahachie plays Summitt at 7.

On Friday, Waxahachie opens the day of action with a 9 a.m. game against Cedar Hill before Cedar Hill plays Summitt at 11. Seguin plays Summitt at 1 p.m. before Birdville plays Midlothian at 3. W.T. White and Birdville play at 5 before Waxahachie wraps up the day with a game against Midlothian at 7.

Seguin and Birdville will play at 9:30 a.m. Saturday before W.T. White plays Cedar Hill at 11:30. Teams will be seeded 1-6 for championship games Saturday with the chapionship game between the teams with the top two records will be played at 5:30 p.m.
