WYBA 18U registration continues
Registration for the Waxahachie Youth Baseball Association 18U division (ages 15-18) will continue through March 20. This is the only recreational baseball league for high school-age players in Ellis County and is open to all 15-18 year-old students regardless of what school they attend.
Parents may register their kids online at the league’s website, www.wybonline.org, or by picking up a registration form at the Daily Light office, 200 W. Marvin Ave.
The 18U division will begin games in mid-April, following the conclusion of the UIL freshman and JV season. All games will be played at the Waxahachie Sports Complex.
Late registrations will be accepted up to the player evaluation day, which will tentatively be scheduled during the week of March 20.

Heart and Soul golf tournament
The annual Waxahachie Huddle FCA Heart and Soul golf tournament will be held Friday, March 25, at the Waxahachie Country Club. The cost is $85 per player and includes cart, green fee and lunch.
Lunch is at 11 a.m. followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Players and teams must be registered by March 18. Early registration is available and will receive a discount. Various sponsorships are available. For more information, contact James Villarreal at 972-523-8706 or Greg Reed 972-741-9837.
Waxahachie sports Friday
Waxahachie Indian baseball will play at home against Forney in a 7 p.m. game while the Lady Indian softball team will host West Mesquite. The soccer teams will end the regular season with games in Corsicana with the varsity boys starting at 5:30 p.m. If Waxahachie wins in Corsicana they are in the playoffs. A win by the Lady Indians clinches the district championship outright.
Youth baseball instruction

Eastern Star golf tournament
Lancaster Chapter No. 943, Order of the Eastern Star will hold its first “Shooting for the Star” shotgun golf tournament on Sunday, April 10 at the Country View Golf Club, 240 W. Beltline Road in Lancaster.
Registration begins at noon and the shotgun tee-off is at 2:30 p.m. Entry fees are $60 per player. Make checks payable to: Lancaster O.E.S. Chapter No. 943, and mail the checks to J. David Milson Legacy Run
A memorial fundraiser run honoring the late David Milson will be held on March 26 at Cedar Hill High School to raise money for Rexanna’s Foundation in the fight against lung cancer. There will be a kids 1K run at 8:15 a.m. followed by the 5K run at 9 a.m.
Milson, the longtime head boys basketball coach at Cedar Hill, passed away earlier this year from the disease. A health fair at the high school will follow the races from 8:30-noon.
Late registration will cost $30. Students can run in the 5K for $15 and the kids 1K run is $10 with no deadline. To register online or for more information, go to www.runforapurpose.com. Brochures on the run are available at the MISD athletic office located near the high school arena.
