Baseball at Waxahachie

Waxahachie will be hosting a Super Series Tournament this weekend at the Optimist Fields and Waxahachie Sports Complex. These baseball tournaments are composed of teams from the age of 9 years up to 14.

There are over 60 teams playing in age groups from 9U to 14U. Teams will be coming from the metroplex area and several local teams are also competing in this tournament.

“Come out and have a hot dog and enjoy some great baseball,” tournament organizers said.”

Waxahachie athletic camps

Summer is almost here and that means there will be plenty of athletic camps hosted by Waxahachie High School coaches. Registration forms and complete information on every camp can be found online at www.waxahachieindians.com.

The volleyball, football and softball camps will be held June 6-9 while the speed and strength camp will be held June 6-July 21.

June 13-16 the baseball, girls basketball and soccer camps will be held while the tennis and boys basketball camps will be held June 20-23.

Green and White game

The annual Green and White football game between the Waxahachie Indian varsity hopefuls will be held Thursday, May 12 at Lumpkins Stadium. The scrimmage will start at 5 p.m. and last until it gets dark as the lights are not in operation yet.

Softball playoff game in Wax

Sulphur Springs and Elgin will be playing a playoff game at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Lady Indian Field in Waxahachie.

It is game two of the series and a game three if needed would also be played in Waxahachie 30 minutes after game two.

Elgin defeated Waxahachie in the bi-district playoffs and is the No. 1 team in Class 4A. Sulphur Springs has a record of 23-11. The first game of the series is Friday at the Waco ISD complex.
