Charlie Gibson, a freshman golfer for Dallas Baptist University, recently made a hole in one on hole one at Waxahachie Country Club. It was his second on the hole. He is the grandson of John and Barbara Key. John was playing with him.
Lady Indians JV results
The Waxahachie Lady Indian junior varsity teams opened play this week with games against Midlothian and Duncanville.
The JV1 team lost to Midlothian on Tuesday 11-2. Jaymie Kendrick was the pitcher for WHS in the loss and was great at the plate. She was 2-for-3 with a double and a RBI. Victoria Pannill was 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base.
The JV2 team tied Duncanville 18-18 on Monday. Alyssa Carrizales played good defensively for Waxahachie while Zitlaly Venegas was 1-for-1 with a single.
Heart and Soul golf tourney
The annual Waxahachie Huddle FCA Heart and Soul golf tournament will be held Friday, March 25, at the Waxahachie Country Club. The cost is $85 per player and includes cart, green fee and lunch.

Waxahachie FCA meeting

Spring WSC adult softball
Spring softball leagues are forming at the Waxahachie Sports Complex. Registration is $400 per team. Deadline to register is Monday, Feb. 21. Teams not paid by the deadline will not be included on the schedule.
The coaches meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 21 at the Waxahachie Civic Center. Registration forms can be turned in at the meeting or at City Hall, 401 South Rogers. A 9-10 game schedule will be played with games tentatively set for Monday (Men’s church), Wednesday (Men’s D League) and Thursday (Co-ed).

Cedar Valley College will host a six-week Spring Training 2011 baseball program for players in grades 1-12 from Jan. 23 to March 6. Cedar Valley College head coach Robert Daily will direct the program in conjunction with U.S. Baseball Academy.
