Waxahachie Youth Baseball Association will now provide softball for Waxahachie area girls. Registration is available online at wybonline.org. Divisions will range from 5-6U t-ball to 14U kid pitch. Each league will have an eight-game season with games played Monday-Tuesday at the Waxahachie Sports Complex starting Sept. 6.

The Hachie Heat select baseball teams will be holding tryouts for 10U and 11U. Heat stands for the type of players the teams are looking for; Hard-working, Endurance, Attitude and Talent. Back to school clinic
Club Express will be hosting back to school volleyball clinics for junior high school students entering sixth-eighth grade at the Waxahachie YMCA. The clinic will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. and 7:30-9 p.m. each night. The cost is $10 per session while discounts are given for multiple sessions. The clinics will be held Aug. 8-11. Support Tori Bingham
Waxahachie senior volleyball player Tori Bingham was injured in a rollover Thursday, July 28. Several events have been set up to help her family with medical expenses.
Chick-fil-A will be holding a spirit day in honor of Tori from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8. You must go inside, order and put your receipt in the designated jar and a percentage of the purchase will be given to the Bingham family. Wednesday, Aug. 10, a car wash at Chicken Express will be held to help raise money starting at 5 p.m.

Riley Soccer Academy will begin weekly lessons for all soccer players looking to get extra training Wednesday, Aug. 31. The Academy be every Wednesday at Lions Park for all ages and will be separated by age groups. Cost is $10 for ages 4-6 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and $15 for ages 7 and up and will be from 6:30-8. There will be a group just for goalkeepers ages 8 and up. The Academy will provide private lesson opportunities and team training for local teams as well as speed and agility training for all athletes and teams. Practice begins at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, while media day will be held Saturday, Aug. 13, starting at 7 a.m. Meet the Indians will be held Thursday, Aug. 18, at 8 p.m. before the first scrimmage will be held Friday, Aug. 19.

With the 2011 football season near the information for season tickets has been released. Sales to current season ticket holders will begin Aug. 23 while new season ticket sales begin Sept. 1. All ticket sales will be held at the Waxahachie Ninth Grade Academy library, a new location from previous seasons. Tickets are $32 per seat. Sales to current season ticket holders will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, Thursday, Aug. 25 and from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27.Trade Day will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30 before new season tickets are released from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1. Academy soccer program
The Kernow Storm FC is offering an All-star Academy Soccer Program taught by its dedicated coaching staff. Games are played on Sundays as to not conflict with other leagues while players improve at a rapid pace due to structured training.
Competing is against some of the best teams in the DFW area while practices are held in Waxahachie.

Adult softball tourney
A benefit adult co-ed softball tournament will be held in honor of Matthew Glasco starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Waxahachie Sports Complex.
Glasco is a student at Waxahachie Faith Family Academy and is entering his second battle with cancer.
