The Waxahachie Braves a 12U AA baseball team will be holding tryouts for the upcoming spring season.
Players cannot be 13 years old before June 1, 2008.
Tryouts will be held Sat., Dec. 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Braves practice fields.

WHS to honor state basketball team
This year is the 25th anniversary of the Waxahachie boys basketball state championship of 1983.
The school will be honoring the team at the Indians’ game on Saturday, Jan. 4th.
They will also be honored at the boys state basketball tournament in Austin on Saturday, March 8 at halftime of the 2 p.m. game, which is the 2A state championship.

Ellis County Homebuilders to host Skeet Shoot
The Ellis County Homebuilders Division will host a skeet shoot Nov. 29, at the DeSoto Gun Club, 470 W. Sterrett Rd., in Waxahachie. The event gets underway at 11:30 a.m. with registration and lunch provided by Cassity Jones Lumber, Wolverton Heating & Air, Wells Fargo Bank and Acme Brick. The top shooter wins a shotgun donated by Lee Lighting. Ferguson Enterprises has donated a Browning Citori shotgun to be given away in a raffle drawing.
