Soccer playoffs

Cedar Hill will be the site of the girls Region II quarterfinal playoff game between Red Oak and Midlothian tonight. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.

At 8 p.m. the Red Oak Hawks will play Crowley in the boys UIL soccer playoffs at the same venue.

Runnin’ Indians to hold banquet

The annual Runnin’ Indians basketball banquet will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17 at the First United Methodist Church.

The Asbury Sunday School Class of the FUMC will host the event.

Ken Roberts of KBEC will be the master of ceremonies.

Red Oak Lions Club 15th annual Golf Tournament

The Red Oak Lions Club will host its 15th Annual Golf Tournament May 3 to raise proceeds that will go to local, state, national and international Lions Clubs service projects.

Entry fee for a four person team is only $200 and includes green fees, cart fees and lunch.

Several contests will be held including closest to the pin, longest drive, longest putt and a chance to win a new vehicle provided by Thornhill Buick for a hole-in-one on a specified hole.

A cash prize will be awarded to the team with lowest actual score.

Raffle tickets will be sold with drawings held during lunch and at the conclusion of the tournament.

Futsal soccer clinic

All Nations Soccer organization will host a clinic in conjunction with the Salvation Army to promote futsal. The clinic will run every Sunday at 5-7 p.m. from March 30-April 27 in the Salvation Army Gym. There is a 25-person limited capacity and the deadline is March 23. The clinic is a fund raiser for the organization to fund a mission trip to Africa this summer in which they hope to use soccer as a tool to reach those in need.

Golf clinic

Waxahachie Country Club is holding an open free golf clinic every Friday from 5-6 p.m.  The clinic is open to any junior golfer interested in taking up golf for recreation or competition.  Host professional Devin Thomas will be teaching basic golf fundamentals each week.  For more information call (972) 937-3521.
