Waxahachie basketball playoffs
The Waxahachie Runnin’ Indians will play Pflugerville Hendrickson in the bi-district round of the UIL boys basketball playoffs on Tuesday at Hewitt Midway High School as part of a double header. The District 15-4A champ Ennis Lions will play Hutto in the 6:30 game and Waxahachie will play the 8 p.m. game against the District 16-4A champ. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students with ID.
Red Oak basketball playoffs
The Red Oak boys basketball team will open the bi-district playoffs Tuesday against Bastrop at the Ferrell Center on the campus of Baylor University. Game time is 6 p.m.
Heart and Soul golf tourney
The annual Waxahachie Huddle FCA Heart and Soul golf tournament will be held Friday, March 25, at the Waxahachie Country Club. The cost is $85 per player and includes cart, green fee and lunch.

The Waxahachie Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle will meet at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the home of Luke Harvey. Students needing a ride can meet at the WHS field house at 7:45. For more information contact Greg Reed at 972-741-9837.
Spring softball leagues are forming at the Waxahachie Sports Complex. Registration is $400 per team. Deadline to register is Monday, Feb. 21. Teams not paid by the deadline will not be included on the schedule.
The coaches meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 21 at the Waxahachie Civic Center. Registration forms can be turned in at the meeting or at City Hall, 401 South Rogers. A 9-10 game schedule will be played with games tentatively set for Monday (Men’s church), Wednesday (Men’s D League) and Thursday (Co-ed).

It is baseball time in Waxahachie. Registration is open online at wybonline.org for play in the Waxahachie Youth Baseball association. The last day to register is Feb. 28. In person registration will be held from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. every Saturday in February at the Optimist Youth Center on Patrick Street. The last day for in-person registration is Feb. 26. Cedar Valley College will host a six-week Spring Training 2011 baseball program for players in grades 1-12 from Jan. 23 to March 6. On Tuesday the Waxahachie soccer teams will play at home against Lancaster in District 28-4A soccer action. Varsity girls start at 5:30 p.m. while the boys will follow. The final powerfliting meet of the season will be Tuesday in Ennis.
