The SAGU volleyball Lions traveled out to Hobbs, N. M., for a Friday night conference match against College of the Southwest.

The Lady Mustangs were entering the game with a 0-1 conference record and the Lady Lions packed their 1-1 Red River record with them on the eight hour trip.

Colleges of the Southwest quickly moved out the gate with a 30-28 win in game one and a 30-25 win in game two to take a 2-0 match lead.

The Lady Lions started rolling in game three as SAGU wrapped up a 30-27 win.

However, the Lady Mustangs wrapped up the match in game four by downing SAGU 30-20.

Rachel Brown was the SAGU leader in assists with 43 and Kelani Keoho was the kill leader with 14.

Mallory Scott posted a smooth 26 digs on the Lions defense.

Next stop for the Lady Lions is Oklahoma City next weekend for four games in two days against top regional opponents.
