In the last two games of the Frisco Tournament, the Red Oak softball team picked up a win and a loss, giving the team a 2-5 record to start the season.

Against Frisco, the Lady Hawks collected 11 hits but only two runs, falling 13-2. Amber Tucker led the team with three hits while Becky Allen and Morgan Dufour each had two.

Pitcher Marley Dickert bounced back from that loss by pitching a gem against Ursuline, allowing seven hits but no runs in a 4-0 win. Kyla Burke had two RBI in the game while Amber Tucker added another.

The Lady Hawks return to action on Tuesday with the first district game of the season against Ennis at home. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.

Midlothian closes tourney with win

After dropping its first game of the season on Friday, the Midlothian softball team bounced back from the loss on Saturday with a 9-4 win over Hurst LD Bell. The Lady Panthers are now 5-1 on the season with a lone loss to No. 4 state-ranked Plano East.

Midlothian returns to the diamond on Tuesday with a non-district game against Mansfield Summit.
