The Red Oak soccer program got off to a good start in district play as both the girls and boys beat Kennedale 9-0 in their agames.

In the girls game, Lauren Stewart scored twice as  Brittany Davis, Amber Franklin, Ashley Gonzales, Vanessa Lopez, Paige McMillan, Melissa Perez and Shayna Thomas each had a goal in the win. Goal scorers from the boys game were not available at press time. The girls are now 6-3-1 while the boys are 11-0-0 overall.

In other Ellis County action, the Midlothian boys tied Arlington Seguin 3-3 in the second game of district competition. The match was originally slated to be at Seguin but was moved to Midlothian earlier in the day.

The schedule change does mean that the senior night originally played for Feb. 26 will now be on Feb. 19 against Everman.
