MHS tennis wins

The Midlothian Panthers tennis team defeated Mansfield Legacy 16-3 last Thursday. This win puts the Panthers at 2-1 in district play. The Panthers will host Grand Prairie Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Girls doubles victories were:

Deloach/Hullet won 6-2, 6-1

Walnut Grove seventh grade volleyball wins

The seventh grade A team Lady Cats defeated the Permenter Short Horns in three games Monday. The Lady Cats came out with high intensity to beat the Lady Short Horns. The scores were 25-15, 19-25, 25-21.

Standout players were Georgia Capell with her hustle to pick up balls and Brooke Greeson who stepped up vocally as a leader for the Lady Cats. This makes the Lady Cats A Team 3-1 in district.

Frank Seale seventh grade football falls

The 7th grade blue and white teams traveled to Mansfield to play Jones Monday.

Both teams played hard, but lost.

The white team lost a tough fought game 28-0. Leading players on offense included Caleb Terry, Rene Hidrago and Tyler Caldwell.

Defensive leaders for the white team included Hunter Freeman, Eric Collins, Jon Catron and Russell Barrington.

The blue team lost 33-6. The offense moved the ball well but could not capitalize and score more than once.

Offensive leaders included Zack Krawczyk, Blane Fouse, Chandler Miller and the offensive line. The defense was led Blane Fouse, Andrew Contreas Austin Parmar, Zack Krawczyk and Jaran Lushaj.

Walnut Grove seventh grade football black wins

The seventh grade football black team won 7-6 against Howard Monday.

Hunter Ramsey scored on a 70-yard touchdown run and Luke Stanton made big plays on both sides of the ball all game.

Octavio Rocha made a last minute interception to seal the win for Walnut Grove.

The white team fell to Permenter 19-0. Colby Calvery, Charlie Clark and Dawson King played well on offense.

The defense was led by Griffin Culbreth, Cade Marriott and Chad Pena.

The blue Wildcats fell to the Cedar Hill Longhorns by a score of 33-6.

The Cats had two costly turnovers in the first quarter which led to two touchdowns.

The Wildcats came back and played well in the second half not allowing a point. They were led by Quenden Darby, Cameron Simmons, Devon Johnson and Andrew Lene.

The Wildcats score came with about two minutes left in the final stanza when Drake Wayland scored from one-yard out.

MHS boys cross country team takes third place

Friday the cross country teams traveled to Denton for the Gingerbread Jamboree meet.

This course was very different than most as the athletes had to hurdle hay bales, jump over logs and run through mud pits.

Our next meet is this Saturday at High View Ranch in Midlothian.

Varsity Girls: Riann Winget was seventh and Sydney Rangel was 14th

Varsity Boys: Jacob Wilson was 16th.

JV Boys: Cameron Hook took second, John Bales was third, Zach Tomlison finished fourth, Josiah Holland was fifth, John Toon was eighth, Keishi Mii finished ninth, Matt McCarty was 11th, Sean McComas was 15th, †Tower Wilson was 17th, Loren Krott finished 18th, Shane Decker took 19th and Isaiah Wilson was 20th. The JV boys team won first.

MHS freshman volleyball teams win

Both Freshman A and B teams defeated South Grand Prairie Friday night at home.

Freshman A got a good jump start with scores of 25-4 and 25-11. Freshman B also came out hot with scores of 25-9 and 25-19.

Freshman A team district record is 4-1. Freshman B team district record is 3-2.

Walnut Grove eighth grade volleyball wins

The eighth grade blue team started off with a 4-0 run and went on to win (25-12, 25-13).

The A Team played really solid defense and handled whatever was hit at them the whole game. With dominating serving performances by Emily Sheehy, Kinlea Reddick and Alli Bernard, the Lady Cats put tremendous pressure on the Lady Coyotes the entire match. Leading the way on the front row attack with great hitting and defense was Hayle Heisroth.

The eighth grade white team defeated the Coyotes (25-6, 25-9).

Relaxed, working as a team and serving the ball effectively, the White Team opened up with great leads (10-1 in game one and 14-2 in game 2) and never looked back.

Outstanding servers were Emma Germany, Elisa Patzig, Stephanie Wyatt and Abby Blood. The back row (including Ayaunee Williams as libero) did a great job receiving serves and passing to the setter for the front row to attack (including Abby Blood and Emma Germany).

JV tennis team wins

The JV tennis team played a district match against the Legacy Broncos on Thursday and won decisively 16-3.

The JV team improves its record to 4-3 (2-1 district). The JV tennis team plays today against Cedar Hill at home.

JV girls tennis falls

Midlothian lost to Duncanville 5-14 last week, but Katie Bass, Lauren Mayer and Amber Hamel all earned singles wins.

The teams of Jodi Jackson and Mayer and Cassidee Hale and Courtney Grisham won doubles matches.

Frank Seale eighth grade volleyball team win

The eighth grade volleyball A team defeated Jobe Thursday.

The Lady Cubs beat the Lady Mavs in two games 25-23, 25-15. Teamwork brought the Lady Cubsí record to 3-0. The Frank Seale Lady Cubs play Danny Jones today at home.

JV Blue football wins

The Midlothian JV Blue Team snatched victory from the jaws of defeat once again, beating the South Grand Prairie Warriors 18-14 to improve their overall record to 4-0 and 1-0 in district play.

The offense controlled the line of scrimmage and the clock all night and the defense used two fourth quarter goal line stands to seal the victory for the Panthers.†

Aaron Schroeder and Tristan Oliphant led the Midlothian offensive attack. They both combined for more than 150 yards rushing on the night.††

Schroeder also completed two touchdown passes, one to Tristan Oliphant on an eight-yard reception and the other was a 20-yard strike to Jaylan Peoples.†

Tristan Oliphant had a 5-yard run for a touchdown to round out the scoring for the JV Blue.

Defensively, the Panthers were led by Brian Hammer (forced fumble), Clay Barrientos (fumble recovery), Jacob Montez (interception) and Austin Adams.

Victor Williams also had two huge pass break-ups at the end of the game to keep the Warriors out of the end zone.†

Jacob Montez led the special teams, by kicking and recovering his own onside kick to start the second half of the ball game.

The JV Blue Team will be back in action on tonight at 7 p.m. against† the Duncanville Panthers at MISD Stadium.

JV volleyball wins

The JV volleyball team defeated Cedar Hill last week. They played a very clean and controlled game to win 25-20 and 25-18.

They now hold an overall record of 18-3 and a district record of 3-1.

Walnut Grove eighth grade football white wins

The white Wildcats are now 2 - 0 with their victory 18-13 victory over the Coble Coyotes.

The Cats scored first on a touchdown run by Grant Upchurch to put WGMS in front.

Jabrelan Esparza stampeded his way into the end zone with a 72-yard kick off return to make the score 13-12.

With less than a minute to play when Upchurch connect with Antonio Fiallos for a 22-yard touchdown.

Defensive outstanding players were Nick Palmer (a tipped pass), Bryson Shull (an interception) and Garrett Farr, who had a sack. The defense had other contribution made by Jabrelan Esparza, Ezekiel Brown, Dayton Callaway, Austin Ridgley and Colton Robinson. The offense was led Mason Starnes, Chase Morgan and Kaleb Flores.

The blue Wildcats fought hard, but came up short 28-24. Zach Humphreys scored on the opening drive on a 27-yard run. Humphreys also threw a touchdown pass to Karson Conrad for another score.

Gabriel Andrade scored on a five-yard touchdown run. The final tally of the night came on a seven-yard run by Humphreys.

Other outstanding plays were made by Jalen Crawford with an interception, good blocking by Garrett Hopgood and Hunter Pustejovsky. The defense was led by Dylan Byers, Gabriel Andrade, Blake Gardner, Ryan Banister and Dalton Samek.

The Wildcats next contest will be at Old Longhorn Stadium vs Cedar Hill Permenter.

Frank Seale eighth grade football teams win

The white team started the night with a 13-0 victory. JB Garrett ran the opening kick off 75 yards for a touchdown.

Later in the game he ran a 15-yard sweep for a score.

The offensive line played outstanding. Other outstanding players on offense included Bryce Griffin, Kylar Castillo and Cade Kids.

The defense shutout Jobe with huge hard hitting tackles. Leading the charge on defense was Nathan Burton, Marshall Hayhurst, Wyatt Baker and Dominick Rich.

The eighth grade blue team took the intensity of the white team and beat Jobe 41-6.

Ryan Breaud scored on two huge runs of more than 85. Also scoring on huge runs were Christian Vineyard and Adam Schroeder.

The offensive line dominated the night as the cubs ran the offense.

The defense was led by Brandon Consalus who had a huge interception return of 40 yards that led to a cub score.
