The Midlothian Youth Wrestling Panthers are diminutive in size but they wrestle with a lot of heart.

On Jan. 12 the fledgling program sent six wrestlers to compete in Henderson, Texas.

In the TOTS Division Brock Fuller and James Morales took first place in their respective weight class.

In Division 1 Tanner Sears took first place and Bryce Fuller took 4th place in their weight classes.

Brandon Bostwick took 2nd place in the Open Division and first place in the Rookie/Novice Division.

In Division 2 Tommy Allred took 4th place in the Open Division and 2nd place in the Rookie/Novice Class.

Then on Saturday, Jan. 19 six wrestlers travelled to Frisco for the Frisco Winter Games.

In an outstanding effort by the entire team, Fuller took first place in the TOTS and James (Bubba) Morales took 2nd in their weight divisions.

The team is scheduled to travel to the North Region Highland Park Tournament on Feb. 2.

Members of Midlothian Youth Wrestling are: Brandon Bostwick, Bryce Fuller, Brady Dalley, Brock Fuller, James Morales, Tommy Allred, Tanner Sears, Cody Cline, Jason Kyle, Grayson Minger, Coleman Blood, and Brandon Taylor.

The Panthers are coached by head coach Jim Berman and his daughter assistant coach Amanda Berman.

The team  holds practice at T.E.Baxter Elementary Gym from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday,  Tuesday and Thursday.

Practice is open to the public and to any  young people who  would like to participate.
