Both teams notched five hits but it was Rockwall-Heath that was able to do just a bit more against Midlothian as the Panthers fell 5-1 in Waco ISD Tournament action. Heath committed three errors but the Panthers were unable to capitalize. Daniel Tockhorn took the loss.

The game was slated to be played at 3:45 p.m. but was pushed back due to an over saturation of the infield. Midlothian was scheduled to play Killeen Shoemaker in a game later in the day but it remains unclear if that game ever took place due to time constraints.

With the move to 5A the Panthers will not face their former district rival Waxahachie in district play this season and as a result the two teams will square off at least twice in non-district games this season starting Friday night in Waxahachie.

Midlothian will take part in the annual Robert Dulin Memorial Tournament Thursday-Saturday at Richards Park for the first time in several years. The Panthers will play W.T. White at 1 p.m. Thursday before playing Mansfield Summitt at 3. On Friday the Panthers will play at 3 p.m. against Birdville before playing Waxahachie at 7. Alex Riley
