The Midlothian High School wrestling teams continue to battle on the mat.

The Panthers took on a very tough L. D. Bell team and ended  with a loss.

However, Kameron Hardin and Kyle Gillispie were able to come away with wins by pinning their opponents. Jacob Little gained a win by a technical fall. Dillion Wilson and Brad Crabtree received forfeits.

The nightcap match against Irving MacArthur was the most exciting of the young season with the Panthers pulling out a 42-41 win.

Needing a pin in the final match of the meet to secure the win, Midlothian got just that as Jacob “Popeye” Little pinned Jessie Gutierrez in the second period.

Hardin, Gillispie, Cainen Cox and Todd Valderas also recorded pins in the match. Daniel Le won by forfeit. Chris Ingram and Chris Jacinto were winners in junior varsity action.

The Panthers will return to the mat on Dec. 28 at South Grand Prairie High School.
