It took an extra inning but the Waxahachie Indians got it done Monday night in a district contest against Ennis in freshman action.

A Luke Allelo suicide squeeze in the top of the eighth scored the winning run as the Indians defeated their rival 7-6 to improve to 11-3 on the season and 4-0 in district.

In the top of the eight inning, Dalton Bradbury walked then stole second before advancing to third on a wild throw.

Allelo placed a bunt down the first base side on a suicide squeeze to score the game-winning run.

Jake Loose pitched three innings and gave up four runs while Patrick Lawrence pitched two innings gave up one run and Zack Garvin pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a run.

Bradbury took the mound in the bottom of the eighth after scoring the go-ahead run and picked up the save by working a scoreless inning.

At the plate, Jake Loose was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI while Conner Maines was 1-for-2 with a two-run double in the first that plated two. Logan Dorsett had a hit while Nick Garvin drove in a run.
