The Alvarado High School tennis team opened up district play with Crowley on Aug. 28 in a close match, with the Indians coming out on top, 11-8.

The win brings the Indians to a record of 2-1 this year. The teamís next match was set for Tuesday, Sept. 4. Results were unavailable by press time.
