Saturday saw both SAGU basketball teams play on the road, but in different Mid-West states.

The SAGU Womenís Basketball team played in Winfield, Kan. in their final game in the Southwestern College tournament.

With the young Lady Lions, there will be ups and downs. By shooting 18 percent in the first half, SAGU found itself down 33-16 going into the locker rom.

The Lady Lions would almost double their shooting percentage in the second half and out scored Friends University 34-32. But, the first half lead would hold and the Lady Lions lost 65-50.

Heather Jefferson led SAGU with 13 points and Chelsea Jones led in rebounds with nine.

The Lady Lions fall to 1-3 on the season.

In Springfield, Mo., the SAGU Menís basketball team took on Evangel University at Central Bible College to complete their play in the Evangel/CBC Classic.

The Crusaders out shot SAGU 40 to 36 percent and took a 32-25 halftime lead.

In the second half, SAGU shot a carbon copy 36 percent, but Evangel hit more shots, hitting 48 percent of their shots to down SAGU 68-51.

Matt Daniels led the way with 15 points as Jake Sones led under the basket with seven rebounds. Sones also had 14 points.

SAGU now moves to 3-2 on the season.
