The Lady Hawks are a long way from making the playoffs this season but can make things respectable with a couple of key wins in the final five games of the season.

The Lady Hawks had a tough week with a 43-26 loss to Corsicana and a 47-40 loss to Ennis.

The Lady Hawks are tied with Midlothian with identical records of 1-6 in district play.

But, Midlothian occupies the cellar because Red Oak defeated the Lady Panthers in the first round of play.

Against Corsicana Asiah Johnson led the team in scoring with 10. Emily Millican 6, Christina Sevier 5, Bre Burks 4, Taylor Ford 3, Courtney Donahoo 3, Lori Ridgeway 3 and Brittney Lacy 2 made the scoring column.

In the game with Ennis, Taylor Ford and Courtney Donahoo both had 9 points to lead the Red Oak attack. Lauren Stewart 6, Christina Sevier 6, Asiah Johnson 3, Lori Ridgeway 2, Brittney Lacy 2, Symone Jackson 2 and Bre Burks 1 all scored.

Arlington Seguin fell to 7-1 last week with a loss to Lancaster. Lancaster (6-2) and Ennis (6-2) are tied in the district race for second place.

Waxahachie (3-5) and Corsicana (2-4) stand ahead of the Lady Hawks in the standings.

The Lady Hawks will take Tuesday night off before travelling to Waxahachie on Friday .
