Waxahachie’s Monica Jaramillo has signed a national letter of intent to play softball at Western Texas Junior College in Snyder, Texas.

Monica is a senior outfielder for the Waxahachie Indians who has started for the Indians since her freshmen season.  She has received first team All-District honors as an outfielder in each of her three years in high school leading up to her senior year.

During the summer, Monica plays with Texas Elite Easton for coach Howard Bancroft out of Grand Prairie. This past summer she earned All American honors at Winters Park, Colorado. Monica plans on pursuing a degree in Education so that she can come back and coach someday.

“Monica has done a tremendous job for us ever since she got here three years ago. We count on Monica to anchor things down in the outfield and to display leadership qualities that we expect from our seniors and she has not let us down. She knows only one way to approach the game and that is all out.  She is one of the girls we have coming back up the middle that we will be looking to for big things this season,” Miller said.
