The UIL soccer playoffs heat up this week as both teams from Red Oak and Midlothian open the playoffs while the Waxahachie Lady Indians also prepare for a deep run.

Waxahachie will play against Seagoville at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Forester Field in Dallas while the Red Oak Lady Hawks will play at 6 p.m. Tuesday against Kimball at John Kincaide Stadium near DeSoto.

Waxahachie and Red Oak finished first and second in District 28-4A and are two of the top teams in Region II. The teams could meet again in the Region II final, but have several games to win first.

With a win Tuesday Waxahachie will play the winner of the Ennis-Dallas Wilson game in the sectionals later this week while the Lady Hawks will play the winner of the North Dallas-Corsicana game. Ennis and Corsicana are both in District 28-4A and lost each game played against Waxahachie and Red Oak this season.

Waxahachie will wear green and be the visitors Tuesday while Red Oak will also be visitors but will wear white.

In the Class 5A bracket both Midlothian teams will play in North Richland Hills Tuesday. The Panthers will play at 6 p.m. against Euless Trinity before the Lady Panthers will play at 8 against Grapevine. Admission prices will be $5 for adults and $3 for students as both games will be played at the Birdville ISD Fine Arts/Athletics Facility.

Playing in Region I, the Panthers will face the winner of the Keller Central-Plano game in the area playoffs later this week while the Lady Panthers would play the winner of the Coppell-Plano West game.

In other Ellis County playoff soccer action, the Red Oak boys team will play Seagoville in the area playoffs this week while the Ferris boys play North Dallas and the Ennis boys play Dallas Wilson.

Ferris’ game is Tuesday at DeSoto while both the Ennis girls and boys will play in Midlothian. The Ennis girls will face Dallas Wilson at 6 p.m. Tuesday before the Lions play Wilson at 8 p.m. Tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for students.
