Despite cool temperatures and windy conditions the Waxahachie Indians hosted the Big Green golf tournament Monday at the Waxahachie Country Club.

Waxahachie’s team of Robert Keith (88), Cody Martin (92), B.J. Ernst (85), Hunter Williams (91) and Mac Teakell (101) placed third overall with a score of 356.

Red Oak claimed the tournament title with a 352 as Midlothian placed second with a score of 354.

Danny DeLos Santos of Life School placed first overall as a medalist with a score of 78, one shot ahead of Red Oak's Justin McCormick.

Waxahachie had three players competing as medalists in the event, Calieb Bates (107), Christian Canafax (103) and Ty Brown (111).

The Waxahachie varsity “B” team will be back in action on March 10 in Cleburne.

The junior varsity district tournament will be in Waxahachie on March 29.
