Snow pushed the game back a couple of days but Corsicana was eager to take the court against the Waxahachie Runnin’ Indians Monday night.
Corsicana (0-26) held a five-point lead after three periods of play Monday before Waxahachie outscored the Tigers 26-18 in the fourth period to pull away with a 68-65 victory.
After being held to 12 points through the first three periods Waxahachie’s Jamison Sterns was on fire in the fourth as he scored 17 of the Indians 26 points.
An Austin Combs three tied the game in the fourth before Sterns went off with several threes and the Indians pulled away.
Waxahachie (11-20, 6-7) took a 12-10 lead after one period before Corsicana held a 24-23 lead at the half.
In a high scoring third period the Tigers outscored the Indians 23-19 to build the five-point lead heading into the fourth period.
Relus Chance scored 14 for WHS while LaDarius Brown had 10 and Austin Combs added 8. Ben Walton (4) and Oshae Cofer (2) also scored.
Waxahachie finishes the season tonight with a game at home against Midway.
