After a 0-0 tie at the half, Ennis scored three second half goals to top the Waxahachie Indians, 3-0, on Friday at Lumpkins Stadium.

“The boys again had a tough loss. For the second straight game, we struggled defensively in the second half. Our play for the most part in each of the last two games during the first half has been some of our best,” Waxahachie coach Jason Venable said.

Ennis took 10 shots on goal while holding Waxahachie to six. Each team had two saves in the game.

“We will have to try and figure out how to play 80 solid minutes. With four more district games remaining we are still in a third place tie with Ennis and hope to put some good soccer together these last two weeks to build up for hopefully a strong playoff run,” Venable said.

Waxahachie has split with Ennis this year, winning in Ennis, 3-2.

On Tuesday the Indians will travel to Red Oak. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
