HOUSTON (AP) A delegation from Houston has arrived in Indianapolis to bid for the NCAA men's and women's Final Four basketball championships.

Harris County-Houston Sports Authority Executive Director Janis Schmees said Monday that she has joined with the Toyota Center in seeking a women's Final Four.

Schmees tells Houston television station KRIV that a representative of SMG-Reliant is also in Indianapolis to bid for a men's Final Four.

The NCAA is considering bids for the tournaments in years 2012 to 2016.

Reliant Stadium has already been named the host of the 2011 men's Final Four.

San Antonio and Dallas are among eight other cities also seeking to host a men's Final Four in the four-year period. Houston, San Antonio and Dallas are competing with seven other cities in seeking one of the women's events.

Each city has until mid-June to submit a bid. Finalists will be determined in August.
