Both the Red Oak girls and boys soccer teams picked up huge wins over district foe Lancaster on Tuesday night. Both teams rolled to 9-0 wins over the visiting Tigers.
In the girls game, Lauren Stewart recorded a hat-trick with three goals as Melissa Perez added a brace with two goals. Teammates Brittany Davis, Amber Franklin, Ashley Gonzales and Vanessa Lopez each scored a goal to round out the offensive attack. The win keeps the Lady Hawks (11-2-1, 5-0-0 district) in first place in the District 28-4A standings at the halfway point of the district slate.
Meanwhile, the boys continued their defensive dominance by holding a sixth straight opponent scoreless to improve to 16-0-0 and 5-0-0 in district for a first place. The team has also scored three or more goals in each of the last five games.
Red Oak will host Ferris on Friday to start the second round of district competition with the girls game at 5:30 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.
