The second annual Waxahachie Global High PTO Golf Classic has been scheduled for May 8 at the Old Brickyard Golf Course in Ferris.

Proceeds from the event will be used by the PTO to help fund programs for students, with a significant portion going toward the PTO scholarship fund.

The event will include a four-person scramble, barbecue lunch and awards reception following the golf. Tee time begins at 8 a.m., with fees of $80 for individual players or $300 for foursomes.

Online registration is available now at www.golfdigestplanner.com/14501-WGH 2010 Golf Classic and includes a 1-year subscription to Golf Digest with registration.

The Old Brickyard Golf Course is located at 605 N. Interstate Highway 45 in Ferris (www.oldbrickyardgolf.com).

“This is our largest PTO fundraiser of the year and we want to get the word out to all the golfers in the community,” said Lisa Hoops, Global High PTO board member. “We are trying to grow our scholarship fund in preparation for the school’s first graduating class. Last year’s event was a huge success. This year we’re working to make it bigger and better.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun and all the proceeds go toward a great cause,” Hoops said.
