Once the athletic camps hosted by Waxahachie High School coaches come to an end in late June the GC Sports Camps heat up and offer local youth a chance to stay active in the summer.

GC Sports Camps are offered in soccer, basketball, football and volleyball from June 28-July 30.

Campers are taught the fundamentals of each sports from state champion coach Rick Solis while also learning what it takes to be a success in life away from the field.

First up is the soccer camp for boys and girls going into grades third through eighth. The camp runs from 8:30-11:30 a.m. June 28-30 at the Waxahachie Sports Complex.

The basketball camp, one of the most popular camps offered by GC Sports, is July 12-14 at the J.W. Williams Gym on the campus of Waxahachie High School. It runs from 8:30-11:30 a.m.

NFL Man of the Year and Kansas City Chief offensive lineman Brian Waters teams with Solis for the football camp July 19-21. The camp is from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Waxahachie Sports Complex.

The volleyball camp for grades fourth-ninth will be a one-day camp from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30 at both Waxahachie High School gyms.

The camps are free and guaranteed to the first 100 pre-registered campers with a $50 refundable deposit if they show up to the full camp. Each pre-registered camper will receive a T-shirt, bag, ball and other prizes.
