Former Waxahachie Lady Indian Kelsey Teal has been named the Heartland Conference Player of the Week for the last two weeks.

Teal averaged 5 digs per game and had a .53 reception error percentage. In four matches played, Teal had 60 digs and 8 errors in 132 attempts.

She also contributed with 13 assists and three aces during the week of Sept. 3.

St. Edwards University started its volleyball season August 24 at the Ram Rumble Tournament hosted by Shepherds University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia where Teal was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Teal had 49 digs for an average of 3.50 per match and she had a serve reception percentage of .939.

The highlight of the tournament for SEU was a 3-1 victory over nationally ranked (No. 24) Lock Haven University

Teal was named Heartland Conference Player of the Week for a second consecutive week Sept. 10.

Teal, over the weekend, averaged 5.89 digs per game and .67 reception errors per game. In two matches played Teal had 28 and 25 digs.

Teal helped lead St. Edward's to a 1-1 record, including a big victory against Dallas Baptist University during a Heartland Conference match.
