Waxahachie was the host school and proved too much for the competition as the Little Green junior high track and field meet was held March 10 at Ennis High School.

The seventh grade girls won the meet with 126 points while the Waxahachie eighth grade girls won with 162 points.

Abigail Rogers placed third in the discus while Hannah Strength was fourth. Danika Zedlitz was second in the triple jump while Michelle Fotheringham was fourth. Zedlitz also placed third in the long jump.

In the running events, Waxahachie placed first in two while placing second in three.

The 400-meter relay team placed fourth with team members Zedlitz, Questany Williams, Fotheringham and Tyra Lacey.

Destinee Pointer was first in the 800-meter run while Audrey Willett was second and Aaliyah Carter was third.

Williams placed second in the 400-meter dash as teammates Madison Isbell was third and Tamera Conner was sixth.

Megan Gaither was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles while the team of Zedlitz, Isbell, Williams and Lacey placed second in the 800-meter relay.

Gaither took first in the 1,600-meter run while Kaiden Maines was fifth.

On the eighth grade side Miranda Herron was fifth in the 100-meter dash and second in shot put. Kashawna Weaver was fourth in the shot.

Caroline Barksdale was first in the 1,600-meter run while Elisa Padron was third and Mikayla Acosta was fifth.

Keshona Hawkins was fourth in the 200 and helped two relay teams earn top spots.

Hawkins teamed with Kaderrika Cash, Rae Neil Davis and Kadeisha Sterns in the 400-relay and placed third before the group placed second in the 800-relay.

Mikayla Manutai was fourth in the 2,400-meter run while Rhegan Hammitt was sixth.

Ariel Horton was sixth in the 400-meter dash and fourth in the 800-meter run while Ashley Temple was fifth in the 800. Mackenzie Posey, Horton, Rae Neil Davis and Sterns placed second in the 1,600-meter relay.

Waxahachie claimed first in both hurdle events as Anna Ramirez took gold in the 100 while Lauren Atkins claimed first in the 300. Jordan Knight was fourth in the 100 as Mackenzie Posey was sixth. Ramirez was third in the 300 hurdles while Abbey Evans was fifth.

Atkins placed third in the long jump while Knight took second in the triple jump. Ramirez was fourth in the triple jump while Posey finished sixth.

Cheyenne Fults was first in the discus while Jessica Buie was fifth.
