The success of the Milford football team greatly impacts early season basketball.
So much so that Coach Carter doesn’t even schedule boys games until late December when he knows that the gridiron players will be available for some hoops.
At present the Milford football team is 10-0 and have earned district and bi-district titles.
They will be tested by Woodson in the area round of the playoffs.
The earliest that the football squad will be available for basketball practice will be Nov. 26.
Last season, the Bulldogs struggled early, but came back to record an even 7-7 season record.
Malcom Wadley is back to provide leadership as well as solid play. The 6-2 senior put up 10.9 points per game, 2.4 steals per game and 5.1 rebounds per game last season.
Juniors Blue Myers and Derek Williamson will also be called on for increased productivity.
Myers, 6-2, recorded 9.1 points per game, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals last year.
Williamson, 5-10, hit for 5.8 points per game, 5.6 assists and 2 boards per game.
