Kennith Gober, a Waxahachie native that has been playing basketball at Trinity Valley, has signed to continue playing at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth.
Corner Kick Club selling backpacks
Waxahachie’s Corner Kick Soccer Club is selling black drawstring backpacks that say ‘Property of Waxahachie’ on them. They are available in the office at Shackelford and Dunaway Elementary Schools for $10 or call Cathy Maynard at (972) 571-6257.
Golf tournament to benefit ACS
The Fourth Annual Golf Tournament for the American Cancer Society is set for Sunday, May 6 at the Mansfield National Golf Club. The Four-Person Scramble costs $75 per person and includes unlimited range balls, GPS system, deli buffet and fun. Check in begins at noon with shotgun start at 1 p.m.
Awards and prizes to first, second and third place will follow the tournament.

Boys Scouts bike rally set for May 12
Head for the Hills bike rally participants, including a team of local boy scouts, will start gathering at the Cedar Hill High School parking lot at 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, for an 8 a.m. start.
Discounts for early sign up for this first-time event end May 1, but riders may continue to use the online form until May 10. To date, riders have registered that come from as far away as Austin and New Jersey.
On Monday and Thursday, soccer clinics hosted by Seth Riley, Waxahachie boys and girls varsity assistant, and club director and coach of the Stampede Soccer Club, will be held. The session will run from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and will be $10 a session. The sessions will run from 6 - 7 p.m. Ages for these clinics are ages 7 and up.

ECYSA football registration
ECYSA (Ellis County Youth Sports Association) will be holding football registration at the Waxahachie High School parking lot on Saturday, May 19 and May 26 from 10 a.m. to 3p.m. Ages 4-12. The Red Oak Lady Hawks will be hosting a basketball camp in June. The camp runs from June 18-21 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the ROHS gym and is for incoming grades 3rd - 9th. For more information call 469-437-6770.
