CEDAR HILL Five Red Oak powerlifters claimed top five finishes to help the team earn 12 points and finish eighth at the Cedar Hill Invitational over the weekend.

Charles Crosby was the best finisher for the boys, earning a second place medal in the 148-pound class. Crosby beat everyone in his class in the squat with 415 pounds but finished just behind class winner Devin Walker of Everman in the deadlift and bench press. His combined weight of 1,055 pounds was just five pounds behind Walker.

Three other lifters claimed fourth place finishes over the weekend as Blake Mirowitz (123-pound class), Cameron Bausley (181-pound class) and Josh Fisher (275-pound class) each earned that medal. Mirowitz had a combined lift of 960 and was one of just three lifters in that class to clear 400-plus pounds in the deadlift. Bausley combined for 1,125 pounds with the fourth highest deadlift in his division. Fisher finished with 1,295 pounds lifted, including a 475-pound deadlift, tying him with class winner Heath Lemoine of Midlothian.

Tyler Walker was the other medalist with 560 pounds in the 114-pound class.

As a team, the Hawks collected 12 points to finish eighth, just two points behind Joshua for seventh and five points behind Kennedale for sixth.
