WACO, Texas (AP) — Brooks Kimmey and Aaron Miller each had three RBIs Wednesday night to help lead Baylor an 11-8 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Miller hit a two-run single in the first and added an RBI double in the third. Kimmey singled in Miller in the third and hit a two-run double in the fourth.
Shaver Hansen, Landis Ware and Kimmey each had three hits for Baylor. Hansen had two RBIs and scored two runs.
The Bears (15-7) led 10-2 after seven innings.
The Islanders (5-18) scored two runs in the top of the eighth and four in the ninth. They had the bases loaded when Justin Greiner lined into a double-play to end the game.
Trey Hernandez went 5-for-5 with one RBI and Chase Wheaton went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Islanders. Chase Williams went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
Mace Thurman (2-0) got the win, giving up no runs on five hits and striking out six in 4 1-3 innings. Andrew Longoria (0-1) took the loss, allowing two runs on three hits in 1-3 inning.
