gets district win

Five Ennis errors, a triple by Zach Gonzales and a double by Dillon Cartwright all help Red Oak get back to .500 for the season and get the district season started off with a 7-3 win.

The Hawks (3-3, 1-0 district) banged out nine hits on the night while pitcher Robert Elles limited the Ennis attack to just five base hits. Red Oak travels to Burleson this weekend for a tournament.

Midlothian softball falls to South Grand Prairie

All three of Midlothianís base hits on the night were for extra bases but it wasnít quite enough to overcome a strong performance from South Grand Prairie as the Lady Panthers fell 8-2.

Michelle Schroeder had two doubles while Aizia Azarcon hit a home run. The Lady Warriors outhit Midlothian 13-3 for the night. The Lady Panthers (10-3, 0-1 district) will return to action on Friday against Duncanville.

Lady Hawks fall

Mesquite Poteet edged Red Oak in total hits 11-10 but put a significant distance on the scoreboard in a 10-5 win in district play. The two teams combined for seven errors with the Lady Pirates being charged with four of those. Samantha Gilmore, Katie Boyce and Amber Tucker had the RBI.

Red Oak (3-9, 0-2 district) is hosting a tournament starting on Thursday.

Hockey tops Garland

The Midlothian hockey team bounced back from a loss to Keller last week with a win over Garland, 4-3. The Panthers opened with first period goals from Chris Green and Daniel Deweerd off assists from Blake Parker, Trent Newman and Jason Spencer, Tanner Dickerson respectively.

McClain Williamson added another goal in the second period off assists from Joseph Dancy and Newman before Newman put the game away with a shot off assists from Dickerson and Dancy to seal the win. Goalie Conner Graham had 13 saves in net.
