Can the Prosper Eagles be stopped?
The Eagles continued their offensive and defensive outburst on Thursday in a shutout 40-0 win on the road against R.L. Turner to win their fourth-straight game and start 3-0 in District 14-5A.
Senior Nathan Powter was an efficient 10-of-13 passing for 148 yards and two touchdowns and junior Kaleb Adams ran for 119 yards, including a 73-yard touchdown, on just eight carries.
Adams’ touchdown came 1:21 into the game. Sophomore Cade York hit two first-quarter field goals and Powter hooked up with senior Austin Lind on a 63-touchdown pass as Prosper ended the first quarter with a 20-0 lead.
Junior Blake Harrington intercepted a Turner pass attempt and returned it for a 36-yard touchdown and Powter hit senior Everett Jefferson for a 12-yard touchdown.
The Eagles led 33-0 at halftime.
Senior James Key added a 3-yard touchdown run in the third quarter for the final score.
The Eagles gained 438 yards while allowing 62. Prosper had 19 first downs while Tuner was held to just five.
Turner finished with four turnovers.
Prosper (4-2, 3-0) hosts McKinney North (3-3, 2-1) for homecoming on Friday night, Oct. 14.
