The Ellis County Master Gardeners are taking applications for their annual scholarship program.  

Several scholarships of $500 to $1,000 are available to graduating Ellis County seniors.

The scholarships, which are funded in part by the Master Gardener Lawn and Garden Expo, are for students interested in horticulture-related fields.  

Forms are available on the Master Gardener Web site at www.ecmga.com or at the county extension office at 7001 Interstate 35E, Suite 3, as well as from high school agricultural departments and teachers.  

Related disciplines include biology, botany, entomology, chemistry, genetics, communications, crop nutrition, ag economics, business and other fields.  

The deadline for consideration is May 1.
