Ysidro Castillo, 71, passed away at Baylor Medical Center of Dallas on Tuesday, May 10, 2011.

Ysidro was born in Ennis on Jan. 2, 1940, to Raymondo and Josefa (Pena) Castillo. He grew up in Ennis and attended school in Ennis. On Nov. 8, 1958, he married Josie Sanchez and they made their home in Ennis.

He was the owner of Cast Contracting for more than 50 years. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church. He loved his grandchildren and gardening. He was a strong, loving, devoted husband and family man. He loved spending time outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Josie S. Castillo; seven sons: Ysidro Castillo Jr., Ralph Castillo and his wife, Robin, Christopher Castillo, Richard Anthony Castillo, David Nathan Castillo, Robert Castillo, Michael Castillo and his wife, Charlie; two daughters: Silvia Ann Quiorez and her husband, Mario, Angie Hamdan and her husband, Emad; 28 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eight brothers: Raymundo Castillo, Henry Castillo, Richard Castillo, Raul Castillo, David Castillo, Freddy Castillo, Able Castillo, Edward Castillo and five sisters: Rose Garcia, Anita Castillo, Yolanda Trujillo, Delpha Castillo and Delia Marlow.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Saragaza Castillo, and one sister, Maria Castillo.

A visitation will take place from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2011, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis and a second day of visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011, with Rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of  Christian Burial will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2011, in St. John Catholic Church of Ennis. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary Inc.
