Tilman Walker Jr., 74, of Red Oak passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at the V.A. Medical Center in Dallas. He was born Sept. 20, 1936, in Dallas to Maggie (Lynch) and Tilman Benjamin Walker Sr.

Tilman served in the Army National Guard. He married Joann Carithers on Feb. 13, 1969, in Dallas. He was an avid fisherman and loved to sing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Joann Walker of Red Oak; son, Tilman Walker III and wife, Jaime, of Pearland; granddaughter, Lyric Poeme Walker; grandson, Nicholas Tilman Trapp-Walker and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mildred Boswell and Virginia Sweetan; and one brother, Ray Benjamin Walker.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
