Sue Percifield Ball, 70, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009. She was born on Aug. 14, 1938, in Fort Worth, Texas . Sue graduated from Alvarado High School in May of 1956, and received her bachelor’s of science degree in merchandising from Texas Woman’s University in 1960. Sue began her career in merchandising at Sanger Harris in Dallas, Texas, and moved to Houston, Texas, in 1963, where she continued her sales career as a buyer for the Pro Shops at Braeburn and Quail Valley Country Clubs, sales representative for Service Brokerage Company, followed by her passion of being a Mary Kay Consultant for 26 years.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Doris Percifield of Alvarado. She is survived by her best friend and former husband, John Ball of Sugar Land; son, David Lawrence and wife, Jo, of Dallas; daughter, Sandy Kovar and husband, Shannon; and granddaughter, Kayla of Austin, Texas; brother, John Percifield and wife, Mary; and nephews, Michael and Paul Percifield, all of Alvarado. She is also survived by her extended family Debbie, Art, Marcy and Matthew Goedeke of Albany, N.Y.; Wayne, Christine, Nicholas and Danielle Ball of Richmond, Texas; Tamie, Joaquin, Channon, Lauren and Kristin Sanchez of Richmond; and Louis, Lynn, Vanessa and John Logan Ball of Katy, Texas; and Sue’s first husband, David M. Lawrence.

Services were held Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at The First United Methodist Church of Alvarado. Family and friends were invited to visit with the family prior to the funeral. Internment followed at the Glenn Wood Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home.
