Ruth Myrtle Anderson was born in Eliasville, Texas, to Archie and Sammy Martin on Oct. 1, 1917. She graduated from Breckenridge High School. Ruth graduated from Shield of Faith in Fort Worth in 1940. She married Gilbert Anderson and moved to Waxahachie in 1948. She worked at Hagar Slacks in Waxahachie and Texas Instruments in Richardson. Ruth attended South Park Assembly of God Church for 60 years.

Ruth is survived by two daughters, Eula Graham and husband, Billy of Waxahachie, Sami Aeverman and husband, Earl; seven grandchildren, Denise Schwartz and husband, Kevin, Donna McFadden and husband, Mark, Debra Barcuch, Darla Starns, Marvin Smith, Gary Smith and wife, Betty, and Carrie Martinez and husband, David; 12 great-grandchildren, Brandi Tanyavinya and husband, Andrew, Cheri Langford and husband, Gary, Amber Morrison and husband, Mike, Pat Smith, Starrlette Smith, Ethan Smith, Travis McFadden, Justin Schwartz, Wesley Schwartz, Kacey Starns, Morgan Barcuch and Macey Barcuch; nine great-great-grandchildren, Michael Cherry, Reanna Smith, Alissa Morrison, Destiny Morrison, Michael Morrison, Andrew Tanyavinya, Emily Tanyavinya, Nicole Langford and Zerenity Smith.

A visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, at Waxahachie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at  Waxahachie Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s organization.
