Robert Freeman passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at his home in Red Oak.

He was born in Belmont, N.C., to the late Forrest C. and Gertrude (Hufstetler) Freeman Sr.

Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy Freeman; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Shane Harp of Red Oak, Susan and Scott Nied of Colleyville; brothers, J.C. Chaney, Forrest Freeman Jr. and Norman Freeman, all of North Carolina; grandchildren, Lacy Rodgers, Ashley Nied, Shae Harp and Jake Harp.

He served in the U.S. Army and was an avid bowler. He retired from IBM after 26 years as business manager.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at Red Oak Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, N.C. Interment will follow in Steele Creek Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Red Oak Funeral Home.
