Robert B. “Bob” Borden passed away at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie Saturday evening, Jan. 17, 2009. Bob was born Jan. 5, 1938, in Tyler, Texas, to Benjamin F. and Essie Mae (Lacey) Borden. He was a 1957 graduate of Corsicana High School and married Bridgett Futch on March 24, 1978, in Waxahachie. Bob retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas in Waxahachie after 32 years. For the past fifteen years, he and Bridgett had a wonderful life on Bolivar Penisula until displaced back to Waxahachie due to Hurricane Ike.

He is survived by his wife Bridgett (Sweething) of Waxahachie; four sons, Robert B. Borden and his wife, Jessica of Pearland, Brice W. Borden and his wife, Maven of Ingleside, Trooper Brandon J. Borden and his wife, Katie of Clute and Robert J. Borden of Corsicana; his sister-in-law, Brenda Graham and her husband, Bobby of Waxahachie; seven grandchildren, Brittney A. Borden of Ingleside, Benjamin W. Borden of Ingleside, Brent W. Borden of Ingleside, Brett J. Borden of Clute, Brock J. Borden of Clute, Peyton W. Borden of Pearland, Robert J. Borden Jr. of Corsicana; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a half-sister, his grandparents (who raised him), an aunt and his mother- and father-in-law.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The celebration of life will be  held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Bucky Faggard officiating. Interment will follow in the Forreston Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Larry White, Billy Don Street, Noel Ramirez, Ivan Mandrell, John Henning, Fred Smith, Tommie Fikes, and Norm Bell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Fleming, Benny Barrow, Jim Shurtleff, Raymond Wilson, Thomas Wiles, Jim Polmenteer, and Donald Crawford.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
