Pierce Padgett Jr., 77, passed away Friday afternoon, June 15, 2007, at Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie. He was born April 29, 1930, in Waxahachie.
Mr. Padgett is survived by his wife Wilma (Durham) Padgett; stepdaughter Lisa Durham, step-granddaughter Denise Durham of Waxahachie; stepson Robert Durham and wife Tammy; step grandson Lee Durham of Decatur and Chelsey of Waxahachie. Also surviving are two half-sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Padgett was the Master Mason of Grand Lodge, Waxahachie No. 90 in 2005. He was with the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department and later became chief of police for Waxahachie, where he served for 25 years. He retired in 1990.
Mr. Padgett was in the Texas National Guard, 49th Division. Pierce was a big man with a very kind and gentle heart. He will loved by all and will truly be missed.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2007, at Waxahachie City Cemetery with Dr. Shane Kennison officiating.
