Patsy Weaver Fisher, 64, passed away on Aug. 19, 2009. She was born on May 7, 1945 In Italy, Texas to Otis Franklin and Serena (Curtis) Weaver; married David Choate and had three children; later married Jim Fisher for 27 years and had two children. Her hobbies were crocheting, sewing, and quilting. She comes from a family with musical talent, dancing skills, and she loved gospel music.
Patsy is survived by two sons, James Gregory Choate and his wife Tonya of Arlington, and Brian Fisher and his wife Rena of Mansfield; one daughter, Dana Kathryn (Fisher) Craig and her husband Buddy of Rowlett; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leon Weaver and his wife Hazel of Eustace, Sonny Weaver and his wife Linda of Eustace, Louis Weaver and Karen of Kemp; four sisters, Shirley Starkes of Mabank, Bernice McBride of Mansfield, Lila Skinner of Ennis, Lois Raney and her husband Jimmy of Ennis; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 27 years, Jim Fisher, one son, Kevin Ray Choate, one daughter, Melody Ann Choate, and four sisters.
Her family wants to recognize the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Cancer Care Center of Fort Worth for their moral and financial support. Special thanks to Helena for her care and friendship.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Chapel in Ennis. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, 2009 at the funeral home.
