Odessa Mae Quinn entered into this life Feb. 13, 1925, in Commerce, Texas, to James Preston Speight and Arizona Jane Quinn. Odessa entered into rest March 8, 2011, at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas after a very short illness.
Odessa was a charter member of Congregational Methodist Church of Grand Prairie, Texas.
Odessa was married to Enious Hulen Quinn on Aug. 31, 1946.
She was preceded in death by her brothers; her husband, Enious Quinn; son, Gerald Quinn and daughter, Janice Quinn.
Odessa is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and James Tune of Milford, Texas, Sheila Miller of Grand Prairie, Texas, Karen and Gary James of Richardson, Texas, and Nora and Earl Fondren of Milford, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Hulen and Beatrice Quinn of Charlotte, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mable Mixon of Garland, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Mary Speight of Dallas, Alma Guynes and Velma Schlabaugh of Pleasant Grove, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Milford, Texas, with the Rev. Jerry Speight and the Rev. Steve Gilley officiating. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011, at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth St. in Grand Prairie.
